Application Process

  • We will accept applications in October 2023 via ERAS for the 2024-2025 academic year.  

  • St. Joseph's will accept J-1 Visas but is not able to sponsor candidates.

    • Candidates must be sponsored via ECFMG

    • We cannot sponsor other types of visas

Documents Required

  • Dean's Letter (not required to receive an interview invitation)

  • 3 Letters of Recommendations

  • Official USMLE Step 1/COMLEX Level 1; Step 2 score preferred

  • Personal Statement

  • Transcript

  • Curriculum Vitae

  • ECFMG Status Report (if applicable)

Factors important in the resident selection process include

  • Academic qualifications

  • Dependability, responsibility, maturity, courtesy/kindness, confidence

  • Leadership skills

  • Interpersonal and communication skills

  • Sense of humor and excellent work ethic

  • US Clinical Experience

  • Applicants from the Central Valley of California and those with ties to the area will be strongly considered
